I joined my husband and travelled to USA in Jan 2004. Barring our 16 month stay in Sydney, Australia, I have called Philadelphia home ever since. I am a First Generation Migrant!
Interesting thoughts Vaibhavi.Just curious had you ever had these thoughts in your sub conscious from day 1 when you moved abroad? Also, another thought to consider from a generation standpoint...how much does your thought process varies on issues like culture and beliefs from that of your parents and grandparents?
thanks for your comment, GMAT! I just posted the story about why I was inspired to start this project in the first place! As far as your other question on how much does my thought process vary from that of generations before me, all I can say is, it is probably advanced to some extent. But still, some things that are eternally valued remain the same. It depends on how you define cuture- is touching elder's feet just a gesture or does it really show our respect for elders? Now, moving forward, probably my grand-kids will never know about touching elders feet, but if they respect elders and treat them well, maybe they are cultured individuals!
